Calcium
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body and has very important roles in body and cell physiology. Approximately 99% of the calcium exists in the bones and teeth. The remaining 1% of calcium is in the blood and extracellular fluids and within the cells of all tissues, where it regulates many important metabolic functions such as neurotransmitter secretion from neurons, muscle contraction and fertility. Calcium level in blood is regulated very strictly. Bone is a dynamic tissue that returns calcium and other minerals to the blood on demand. If we don’t consume enough Calcium in our diet, gradually bone calcium storage decreased and osteoporosis begins. Bone also takes up calcium from the blood when it is consumed. The best way for prevention of osteoporosis is to intake and deposit sufficient Calcium in bones. At the age of 20 to 30 years, the bones have the maximum mineral density and then after 35 it falls gradually. In pre menopause women when the estrogen level begins to decease, osteoporosis develops and after menopause it becomes worse. So, we must to intake enough Calcium in every period of life; childhood, adolescence and old adults, to prevent of osteoporosis and its dangerous side effects such as bone fractures.
Magnesium
Magnesium is an essential mineral in human nutrition with a wide range of biological functions which approximately 60% of it is found in bone. Magnesium is involved in over 300 metabolic reactions. It is necessary for every major biological process, including the production of cellular energy and the synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins. Symptoms and signs of magnesium deficiency include anorexia, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, generalized muscle spasticity, paresthesia, confusion, tremor, focal and generalized seizures, confusion, loss of coordination, cardiac arrhythmias, laboratory abnormalities, such as hypokalemia and hypocalcemia, muscle cramps, hypertension and coronary and cerebral vasospasms. Magnesium deficiency may be found in diabetes mellitus, malabsorption syndromes, alcoholism and hyperthyroidism, among other disorders. Use of certain drugs may also lead to magnesium deficiency, for example diuretics.
Magnesium in Calci Power is from Marine source and has gotten from sea water. Magnesium marine is in combination with 90 other micronutrients that are essential for biological reactions in our body. Magnesium marine with 60% bioavailability, has the highest absorption rate in all Magnesium salts. There is also an increased bioavailability of Magnesium marine which is in combination with other micronutrients.
Adequate intake of Magnesium besides of preventing of osteoporosis, decreases muscle cramps, PMS symptoms and constipation.
Zinc
Zinc is an essential element in human nutrition with a wide range of biological roles. Zinc plays catalytic, structural or regulatory roles in the more than 200 zinc metalloenzymes that have been identified in biological systems. These enzymes are involved in nucleic acid and protein metabolism and the production of energy. Approximately 90% of total body zinc is found in skeletal muscle and bone. Physiologically, zinc is vital for growth and development, sexual maturation and reproduction, dark vision adaptation, olfactory and gustatory activity, insulin storage and release and for a variety of host immune defenses, among other things. Zinc deficiency can result in growth retardation, immune dysfunction, increased incidence of infections, hypogonadism, oligospermia, anorexia, diarrhea, weight loss, delayed wound healing, neural tube defects of the fetus, increased risk. for abortion, alopecia, mental lethargy and skin changes.
Vitamin D₃
The biologic role of vitamin D is to regulate the calcium and phosphate levels in body. Vitamin D is different from all of the other vitamins in human nutrition because it is the only vitamin that is a conditional one. Vitamin D3 is synthesized in the skin via photochemical reactions using ultraviolet B (UV-B) radiation from sunlight. Humans who are not exposed to sufficient sunlight due to reason of geography, shelter or clothing, require dietary intake of vitamin D. Most of us do not get adequate amounts of this crucial vitamin, either from diet or sun exposure, and that this deficit can result in serious negative health consequences. Vitamin D₃ converts to Calcidiol in the liver cells and then to calcitriol in kidney tissue, that is the active form of this vitamin. It presents in blood circulation as a hormone and caused to bone health. It appears to reduce bone loss in aging men and in postmenopausal women, and to significantly reduce the risk of falls among the aging. The daily need for vitamin D is 400 to 800 IU depend on age.
Vitamin D₃ in Calci Power is the only D₃ form of this vitamin which founds in non-animal natural source. This natural vitamin D3 is coming from the lichen. The lichen we selected grows in Canada, Scandinavia and Ireland. It is a wild and not threatened species. This can be incorporated in products intended for the vegetarians and the vegans. Most of the time the natural vitamin D3 proposed to the vegetarians is coming from lanolin (wool from sheep) which can make them reluctant to consume it. This product is GMO (Genetic Modified Organism) free and did not undergo any gamma radiation treatment; this product doesn’t contain nanoparticles according to European regulation and is Lanolin free.
Mechanism of Action:
Calcium and magnesium are structural minerals of bones and play important roles in bone formation and support. Zinc plays a role in the process of building bone matrix and promotes its growth and strength. Vitamin D₃ helps absorbing calcium from the intestine and prevents bone resorption (osteoporosis).
